Astronauts on board the International Space Station (ISS), for the first time in history, enjoyed a round of badminton in space on Tuesday.

The Russian state space corporation Roscosmos released a video of the cosmonauts and space explorers from Russia, the United States and Japan playing the main ever badminton coordinate in space.

Russian cosmonauts Alexander Misurkin and Anton Shkaplerov played against their US peer Mark Vande Hei and Japanese Norishige Kanai in the main set, a Roscosmos explanation said.

In the second set, NASA’s Joseph Acaba supplanted Vande Hei, Xinhua news organization revealed.

While Roscosmos didn’t indicate the last score, they said that ‘Friendship won’, which in Russian terms typically implies that the match was a draw.

The ISS administrator, Russian cosmonaut Alexander Misurkin, said for him, playing an amusement in the circle was “commensurate to setting a banner on Mars.”

“Later on, in ships that will convey us to different universes, it is important to give a different module to such an game since it is exceptionally valuable from the perspective of mental unwinding and reinforcing of benevolent relations in a group,” NASA’s Vande Hei remarked.
